Academy Reunion Party

Hey Academy kids! 

The next (and maybe last?) Academy Get-together is planned! It's July 6 from 4-8 pm. 
The party is in the meeting room at the La Quinta Inn. It's within walking distance of Pricila's apartments. 
So for those who want a guided tour to the hotel, you can meet us at Pricila's place around 3:30-3:45. Then we can walk over to the hotel together. Otherwise, meet us at the hotel at 4:00.

Parents are very welcome to come, and they may call me (English) or Pricila's mom (Spanish), Maria Cano, with any questions.

I will be taking donations for the room rental, but this is my gift (and last gift) to you.

BUT! We need your help with food and snacks. Please let me, Mrs Cano or Pricila know what you are able to bring. If you would rather give Pricila some $ ahead of time, she will be collecting for the snack fund. Please contact her or her mom with the details.

It's time to Meet!

Hey future 7th graders!  It's time to meet up and see how our summer is going so far. 

Also, the shirts are in, and they look great!!!  This is the only opportunity for you to get your t-shirt/hoodie/etc if you ordered one.  

Details are as follows:

Where? Cici's at Spring Valley & Coit Rd
When? Friday, June 14
Time? 12:00pm - whenever...
What? Lunch - bring $6 for pizza buffet and drink

REMEMBER!!! If you have a shirt to pick up, please bring your money for the shirt.  Reminder: regular t-shirt is $10, long sleeve t-shirt is $15, and the hoodie is $25.  

*If you ordered a shirt or hoodie and cannot make it on Friday, please contact me ASAP so we can make other arrangements.

It's Time to Choose the When!

So I've posted a few things so far, and no one has left me a comment yet. 

So the teacher in me has decided to assign you some Comment practice. 

Assignment Topic: 6th Grade Reunion #1

Assignment Objective: We will decide which day is best for all of us to meet. 

Assignment Details: We will meet for lunch at the CiCi's at Spring Valley and Coit, 12:00pm.  You will comment on which days you are available. Listen up! you are not voting for the day you wish we would meet. You are telling me the days you CAN make it. 

These are the possible days:

1. Friday, 6/14

2. Monday, 6/17

3. Wednesday, 6/19

4. Thursday, 6/20

REMEMBER! Comment me the days you CAN make it. Not the day you want.

Time to have FUN!!

OK, so I've been getting texts all day from kiddos who are sad about school being out. It just so happens that we were extra lucky to have each other and it's hard to be apart. What we have is very rare and very special. But, here's the deal, this is important...are you listening? 

IT IS SUMMER TIME! 

Every other student is peeing their pants from happiness right now because summer has officially begun! We are not able to see each other, that's true. But you only get one summer a year. So go out and enjoy it!

A New Beginning

Hello lovelies. We've come to the end of 6th grade, the end of your elementary school years, the end of our time together every day. 

It's bitter sweet for me. The bitter bits: I've loved being with you for the past two years, loved watching you grow up into young adults. It's been an honor to be a part of your lives. I will miss you all dearly. It will be hard not knowing what's happening in your lives on a daily basis.

But here's the sweet part: now you get to move on to Junior High, when life gets even better (and harder). You will make tons of new friends, and experience so many new things that life brings to you. Just keep making good choices, and you will find that the fun is just beginning. 

And now, for our New Beginning. This blog, Bears and Stars, is dedicated to you, former students of mine from any year. You are my cubs and I will always be your Mama Bear. With that said, Mamas want to know what's happening in her cubs' lives. This blog is for you to keep in touch with me and your former Academy family. You will be split up in two different schools next year, so this will be a good way to keep in touch. 

I will make posts you can reply to. And please send me your news and photos that I can post for you.
